Celebrating the Pantry’s 1st Birthday!

People at the Pantry 1st birthday

On Friday we had a brilliant day celebrating the Purfleet Pantry’s 1st birthday!

Over the past year we’ve made a huge impact in the community, and this is all thanks to the supportive local community and local businesses!

Thank you to everyone involved with the Pantry for making it all possible and all the members who have shopped with us so far.

The Purfleet Pantry was set up with support from the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk and the Norfolk Community Foundation, and we’d like to give them a special thanks for all their help over the past 12 months!

The Pantry’s Manager, Karen, shared her thoughts:

“I was proud to be able to celebrate our birthday with the people who have helped shape our community shop into the success it has become.”

“It was a real pleasure to see so many of our loyal customers and generous local businesses take time out of their busy days to join in the festivities.”

The Purfleet Pantry has held a number of initiatives throughout the past year, including free dental products for children, working in conjunction with local councillor Alexandra Kemp.

Councillor Kemp celebrated the supermarket as a

“vibrant, empowering community hub that now helps over 900 members – with baskets on average 38% cheaper than supermarket equivalents.”

Our Impact

Over the past year, the Pantry has been able to support over 3000 people, including over 260 families with young children. More than 10 local businesses and food suppliers continue to support the Pantry by supplying discounted food to the Pantry, where savings can than be passed onto customers.

Here’s to an exciting future for the Pantry!
